The amount of money you will make with your content is directly linked to the amount of sales you can make. Content that engages users to click and buy will generate more money than content that generate nothing but impressions.
The second thing that has a direct impact in your earnings is the amount of traffic you have. So far so simple.
Now things start to complicate. How can you get more traffic
and how can you make content that makes users want to click and then buy?
Let’s see traffic first. No one will see your content and read your articles just because you published them, you need to take some action. No one will type the full URL to read it, so this means that all your traffic will come either from search engines or from other links. To rank higher on search engines you need to pay particular care to the keywords in the title and in the first paragraphs. When a user types keywords that match your title, your results on Google will be shown on bold which increases both the chance of getting a click and to be shown on the results obviously. You should use Google keyword tool to see the keywords for that subject that get the most searches then use them in the title.
To get traffic from other sites you should make all the links you can from other sites to your pages. Sites that get big traffic like Facebook and Myspace are the greatest ones, however if you are not a super star you will not get that much visits so focus only where you get visitors, else just write more articles.
Expensive content is the last thing to take in consideration. Expensive content is that content that can pop the most expensive ads in the inventory. Search on Google for the most expensive ads and then make content for them. Be particularly careful to the area you are going to get readers. Most of these ads are region targeted so not all your readers will see the same ad.
